7 October 2017

Following the holiday, a sort of routine is in place. Every night I'm assured she isn't stopping and every night she does, I offer tea and food (so very British!). Heck Girl 2 even came round and the four of use had a decent drink together. Interesting Girl 2 isn't my type of person (too selfish and drama filled), Girl 1 agrees. He did agree, however recent flirting's appear to have swayed his mind and he sneaks her cigarettes and gives her lifts. Obviously blaming her for it all. Been there mate, I know the script even if your girlfriend hasn't sussed it yet.

The night we drank was better than before, mainly because he was there and we could jointly take the mick out of him, an safe target if you will. When Girl 2 eventually left, we all stayed up a touch later. He tried to get me to disappear by pretending he was really tired, but his new girlfriend kept chatting to me, so I really didn't have a decent way to leave.
We mucked about for a while, very childishly we decorated him with icing pens.and jointly ignored his grumpy threats. I even went as far to remind him he wanted us to be friends. Something she surprisingly agreed with and even informed him that he kept saying we were similar. I knew he was getting pissed at the bullying when he started threatening to use hair remover on our heads.
Personally not something I cared about, it would only reflect on him in the gossipy way of this village. She tried to laugh it off but I could see she was a little unnerved by the threats. Not surprising because kids are taught at school these day that controlling behaviour and threats are a form of domestic abuse. I'm afraid I lived with it a while now, and I frankly couldn't give a dam. He can't hurt me more than he already does.
Eventually I was told to go to bed, I was too drunk. Whoopsie! So I head through and just as I'm settling, he starts chatting away dead normally to her. I knew he only wanted rid of me, but the giggling and laughing at me made me feel a touch uncomfortable. I guess he had to reassure her, so she didn't see through him. He needed her to see that the threats weren't mean 'like that', and it was 'just a joke'.
The next day I'm up for a couple of hours before they even surface, in fact she is quite surprised at my lack of hangover. I'm actually thinking about day drinking a lot these days, can't imagine why?!
